Boat Insurance, A Necessity For Any Boat Owner
Florida is considered the “boating capital” of the world, and for good reason. The state has the highest number of registered recreational boating vessels, approximately 959,000. Because there are so many things that could go wrong on the water, boat insurance is a necessity for any avid boat owner.
According to statistics released by the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), Florida not only leads the country in the highest number of recreational boating vessels, but we also have the highest reported number of boating accidents. In 2020, there were 836 boating accidents and 79 fatalities. These statistics are enough to make anyone uneasy but purchasing boat insurance allows you and your guests to enjoy your time on the water without worrying about what could go wrong.
Whether you use your boat to fish, cruise, or race, we know it must be pretty difficult to picture your life without it. Boat insurance is just as important as car insurance. No matter how experienced or cautious you are, you can’t protect yourself against careless or inexperienced boaters, or the wrath of nature. Boat insurance protects you in a variety of situations, including:
- Accidents with uninsured boats
- If a guest slips and falls aboard your boat
- If a guest is injured while fishing or water-skiing
- If you collide with another boat and injure a passenger
Our independent Agency has extensive experience in writing insurance policies for boaters, so you can be certain we can provide you with the best protection available.
